The Full Story
Karnivore Kitchen was borne out of the merger of our love for Brazil, and our love for an animal based diet. In 2016, I took a 6 month trip to Brazil to train Jiu-Jitsu, and while there, I fell in love with the cheese bread. Unfortunately, all of the cheese bread you can buy in the stores are all made with vegetable oils. I started to experiment with making it myself at home, but we would use beef tallow instead. We turned a delicious product that made you feel kind of crummy afterwards, into a delicious product that is healthy and provides you with a great source of clean burning fuel. Everyone loved the end product so much, that I knew it was time to share it with a wider audience.

Benefits of Beef Tallow
-
Beef Tallow is rich in fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, K, and B1. Fat Soluble Vitamins are easily absorbed into the body when eaten with fat.
-
Beef Tallow is high in Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) This is a type of fat that's known for it's anti-inflammatory properties, which have been found in a number of studies to have cardioprotective properties against heart disease, diabetes and obesity.
-
Grass Fed Beef Tallow has a very low Omega 6 to Omega 3 Ratio when compared to vegetable Oils. The higher the omegas 6 in relation to Omega 3 causes substantial imbalance and inflammation in our bodies.
-
Beef Tallow contains Stearic Acid, which may aid in accelerated metabolish and lead to reduction in fat compared to other types of cooking oils.
Why should I avoid Seed oils?
-
Seed oils high in omega-6’s are highly reactive and susceptible to rancidity. Many industrial seed oils are considered to be toxic.
-
Consuming large quantities of seed oils creates an imbalance between free radicals (molecules missing an electron) and antioxidants in your body.
-
Seed oil crops are usually Genetically modified. GM crops are often sprayed with harmful herbicides like glyphosate. The International Agency for Research on Cancer declared glyphosate as a probable human carcinogen
-
The refining process removes antioxidants and can make seed oils potentially toxic. The process also includes bleaching and deodorizing to improve the taste, color, and shelf life.
-
The deodorization process can cause the production of trans fats, which elevate LDL “bad” cholesterol and increase your risk for coronary disease.
